This is going to be hard: After twenty years of “doing things properly”, using surgical techniques to relieve pain, swelling and to help my clients recover from embarrassing breakages, I am beginning to dream up strategies to keep my clients safe during “lock-down”.
My first action has been to ensure I can securely access client’s records remotely. This will enable informed and appropriate advice to be given and for the required materials to be supplied.
My team and I now have the practice telephone lines re-directed to our own telephones, to allow us to offer help to our clients all day and every day.
We have agreements with pharmacists to provide prescription medications, including antibiotics using virtual prescriptions, rather than having to wait for paper copies.
We continue to staff the practice, where we have a stock of materials and products, which we can post out to clients and we are experimenting with a partner, who would dispatch products from their virtual shop to my prescription.
I have set up a WhatsApp account (07936361402) to facilitate video calls and receiving photos. Many emergencies will be diagnosable from symptoms and photographs.
Over the next weeks, my and team and I will be working hard to keep our clients as safe and comfortable as possible. We are currently busy telephoning clients to give advice and uploading information onto our website.
I invite clients to call the practice if they have any concerns or would like advice.
