Unexpected Pain
Pain From Around a Tooth
Pain from around a tooth (normally the wisdom teeth) can stop you opening your mouth fully and cause swelling-Keep your mouth as clean as possible by brushing twice daily, (even if painful). Rinse three times daily with Chlorhexidine Gluconate mouth rinse.
Bleeding And Painful Gums
Treat bleeding and painful gums by brushing even if painful and seek dental assistance within one week. If too painful to brush, rinse with Chlorhexidine Gluconate mouth rinse.
Sensitive Teeth
Treat sensitive teeth by applying Sensodyne jelly or toothpaste.
Severe Sharp Pain
Treat severe sharp pain by applying oil of cloves to the tooth and taking ibuprofen tablets four times daily. Avoid ibuprofen if you are asthmatic. Seek dental assistance within 48 hours.
Dull Aching Or Throbbing Pain
Treat dull aching or throbbing pain by taking ibuprofen tablets four times daily. If severe alternate ibuprofen and Paracetamol every two hours. Avoid ibuprofen if you are asthmatic. Seek dental treatment within 48 hours.
